The Last Bastion

When they arrived at the bunker Ryuu did a thurough sweep to ensure there were no zombies left. "All clear, everyone in."

Ben walked in, sitting down and slumping against the wall. "Whew! That has to be the most exhausting thing I've ever done in my life!" he said, suppressing a yawn with one hand.

"Tell me about it," said Ravos with a tired grin. "I haven't gotten a wink of sleep all frickin' day. I'm about ready to collapse! You guys mind if I get a little rest? I realize we're in a bad situation, but I used up a lot of power and it's getting close to night. When night comes, I have trouble sleeping at all, so any sleep I'm going to get will have to be now." He truly did feel drained, he had stretched his vampiric abilities to their limits.

"Go ahead, i'll get the electricity and water running." Ryu said, walking into a room marked Authorized Personell only.

Ravos cuirled up in one corner of the bunker, closing his eyes. He did not enter a very deep sleep, nay, only a light regenerative one. He had to keep his guard up, even while he asleep. The call of the night would wake him soon enough.

"So... what do we do now? Zombies have suddenly come out of nowhere, the town's a complete mess, tons of people are dead, and quite a few of us are in pretty sorry shape right now," said Ben, looking at the various wounds the members of the group had taken.

"We rest, this place is safe for now, we should check the town for survivors, but I doubt we will get lucky." Ryuu said, looking grim. "We also need to find the source of the outbreak, news will have spread about this by now, so we have to find the source before the scientists arrive."

Upon arriving, Telro rested Amy near on the floor, and Nio herself collapsed upon finding a comfortable place to rest. "Well, then, I'm the only who is fine. Then again, I wasn't in that battle as long as you guys. Hm..." Telro looked around the bunker for a moment listening to Ryuu's and Ben's short conversation. "If the scientists even attempt to... we can't let them any where near here. They'll get infected... they always do. And, if they think that they can protect themselves with some sort of suit, they better think again." The demon pulls out a key from his pants' pocket. "Alright, there is something major that I need to tell you Ryuu... in private."

"Ben, stay here." Ryuu said, walking into a room that Telro went into, then closed and locked to door. "What is it?"

Ben turned his sword around in his hands quietly, contemplating the turn of events that had been laid out before him. He looked around, watching everyone make themselves comfortable. Ravos appeared to be knocked out, sleeping in a darkened corner. It was unnerving to see him sleep. His chest neither fell nor rose, he was as still as a corpse. Guess he had to expect that from an undead though, right?

Well, Ryuu would have to decide the next step. He seemed to be the oldest one of their group by far, he had the most knowledge about these zombies. He also appeared to have experience with them, as well. Ben wondered how this entire thing would turn out. Would they win aside the humans, or would the zombies come out on top? Time would tell, he figured with a shrug.

"Ryuu... back in hell... things aren't going well. The zombies aren't just up here... let's just put it that way." Telro held out his key. "This key is the key to hell. If it's used, literally, all hell will break lose. I was given this key to lock them down there, and I did... however," He put the key back in his pocket, "To tell you the truth, they've been down there for a long time now. And, until now, I've not been able to find you or anyone else who could help, so I was stuck watching over Nio for awhile... for years.... Now, these things are up here, and... we're in trouble just plainly. Nevertheless, on the bright side, I found you. So, I think its time we did something serious. I'm not going to joke around anymore... my friends are still in Hell fighting those monsters."

"What do you have in mind? I mean, we have an angel, demon, dragon, two kitsunes, a half dragon-half pheonix, a vampire, and a kinsmir, we could cast some serious spells with just the people we have around us..." Ryuu said.

"These things need to be taken care of in a single blow... our magic alone isn't good enough for that." Telro shook his head. "Do you think you could call on all your dragon buddies? That may help, but, still, we need a magic modifier more than anything." He taped his forhead with his hand. "There is one thing... but... it's a forbidden item."

"I used to lead the black star dragons, before that, you know what me and Laya were like. Do you think we would care if something was forbidden?"

Telro sighed looking away from his old friend. "Well, I'll see what I can do about that matter. Anyways, that was all." Telro walked out of the room taking note that a majority of their team was either tired or exhauted. Can we really do something like this? Should I do something like that...? Well, thinking about it now it not that important. We can't go anywhere with our little team out of it.

"Alright, so now that you guys have had your chat... what should we be doing now, exactly? Should we search for survivors, or would it be best to just leave 'em be? Should we search around for more magical help, perhaps? Should we barricade this place up against the zombies? Gimme an order, I just got warmed up out there!" Ben said with a grin as the two exited from their private conversation and joined the rest.

"Whatever your name is, relax. If you don't, you'll end up dead." Telro said sternly. "Right now, we can't leave this place; I know that for sure. Though..." The demon takes a seat beside the angel. "I could teach you how to use your abilities fairly well. Our two kinds' abilities are all used in the same ways, just have different effects and such. What do you say?"

"That would be beneficial, as I don't really have the hang of this yet..." answered Ben. He would've never guessed that a demon's powers and an angel's were similar... But, it was obvious that Telro knew a lot more than him about magic. Probably a lot more about angels as well. He definitely could use a bit of help with getting used to his new abilities...

"Alright, for now, just save up your magic. For what I'll be putting you through, heh, you'll need it." Telro smiled almost evily. "Anyways, I need to focus on healing the wounded... hm... I don't know what to do about the phoenix, but I can help Nio and that vampire kid." Telro quickly steped up to Nio focusing magic in his palms... holy... magic? Nio's wounds quickly closed up, not even a scratch or a scar was left. "Now for the vampire..." Quickly turning to Ravos, the demon focused his holy magic all across Ravos healing him completely as he did with Nio. "Alright... wow... that drained me more than I expected. I suppose that makes sense with their deep wounds, though."

Ravos didn't move in his sleep, but his face became more relaxed as he was healed. Ben found it amazing that their wounds seemed to be completely healed, this was certainly a powerful creature. Demons were always told of being evil... but this one actually knew healing magic! Maybe all he had heard about demons was wrong?

"So... for now we just rest and wait for everyone to recuperate?" he asked. They could probably use the time, as the phoenix and the vampire were both still knocked out. One in sleep, the other, well, just knocked out.
